Invitations to Special Events
We sometimes have special events that are attempting to advertise their MyFlex offerings by automatically signing students up for their program. Unfortunately, students may have already made their MFL selection for that day and lose their seat because they were placed in a special offering that's not required but was simply trying to advertise itself to select students. Could we explore a feature that would allow educators to invite students to a WIN without placing them in the course?

Very interesting idea Heather Haines! We had not heard that one before.
What do other folks think? And we all know MyFlex now schedules students into a class as soon as the staff member (or the student themselves) schedules into the class.
Another idea with this type of functionality is do you ever see the need for students to "request" to be scheduled into a class (maybe its a class that allows student sign ups but the teacher wants some "approval" capabilities)? Seems like that could be a similar "feature", basically a "request" or "invitation" that someone (teacher or student) can then approve or reject.

I really like the idea of a request/approval workflow. I can see us using it for College visits. Guidance could invite students to attend directly in MFL and those interested could reply. It is kind of like "reverse" scheduling. Mnay opportunities for this use. Great idea!

Both features would be great! Having a way for admin to grant these permissions to certain offerings (rather than making them available to every class) would be useful, too.

Having thought about this a bit more, I'd love that "request" feature for students. This would be a great way for a student to indicate interest in a full class, acting as a "waitlist" feature. Right now I know teachers & students are communicating outside of MFL about waitlists and would likely appreciate the ability to keep it all in MFL.
